Internacional Museum Day 2024: Museums for Education and Research
This year’s theme, Museums, Education, and Research underscores the pivotal role of cultural institutions in providing a holistic educational experience. This day pushes for a more conscious, sustainable and inclusive world.
Museums serve as dynamic educational hubs, fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. In 2024, we acknowledge their contribution to research, providing a platform for exploration and the dissemination of new ideas. From art and history to science and technology, museums are vital spaces where education and research converge to shape our understanding of the world.

Prime Numbers and Much More
Esther Ferrer’s piece Números primos (Prime Numbers), recently installed in Artium Museoa’s inner courtyard as part of the Plazaratu project, serves as the inspiration to run these workshops around the concept of prime numbers, involving a variety of games suitable for all types of audiences, but especially youngsters.

Poltsikorako poemak
Poetry recital with Amaia Egidazu and Saroa Bikandi
A poetic story aimed at children in which voice is accompanied by body and image. The activity is based on a compilation of various specially created illustrated poems, an excellent resource to work with children on rhythm, rhyme, language and orality. The itinerary contains fun stories and surprises in which children will be able to hear, see and touch each story in order to enjoy it.

Adabaki
Show with Bapatean Zirko
Two clowns, one place, a thousand possibilities. Fall down and get up, run, get angry, make up, love and hate each other, break, fix, break again and fix together. Because everything has a solution and the fun never stops. Adabaki is an optimistic show filled with play and emotions.

The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, 2013, 105 min., Spanish version with Basque subtitles.
In collaboration with Gaztefilm Fest
T.S. Spivet is a 12-year-old genius living on a ranch in Montana with his quirky family. His great talent for cartography has its own reward, because a scientific institution grants him a prestigious award, so he prepares to cross the country to collect it armed with a small suitcase.

On the occasion of the celebration of Museum Day, 18 and 19 May the admission will be free.
All activities are free of charge during the International Museum Day weekend. However, it is advisable to book a place (except for the workshops) on 945 20 90 90 20 to avoid possible problems with capacity.
