Artium Museoa, Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basque Country and the Summer Courses Foundation of the University of the Basque Country are organising a course to explore the heritage collection of Néstor Basterretxea through the various institutions that contain his legacy, as well as presenting the different tools and possibilities for accessing this documentation.
The course will be attended by professionals of renowned prestige in the field from institutions such as the Eresbil, Lazkaoko Beneditarren Fundazioa, Gordailua Centre for Heritage, Euskariana, Jorge Oteiza Museum Foundation, Basque Film Library, Sancho el Sabio Foundation, National Library of Spain and Artium Museoa.
The course’s programme will focus on the importance of acquiring a deeper understanding of Néstor Basterretxea’s personal and professional career, examining and contextualising his contributions to contemporary art and exploring both his artistic evolution and his impact on the cultural scene. It also intends to establish a space for dialogue and collaboration, facilitating the exchange of knowledge, experiences, good practices and possible future collaborations.
