. Marwa Arsanios. The Land Shall Not Be Owned
[A1 Gallery] - Until 12 April. Solo exhibition by the Lebanese artist Marwa Arsanios (Washington, DC, 1978). At the heart of the exhibition is her series of documentary pieces entitled Who Is Afraid of Ideology? (2017-ongoing), a project in which Arsanios examines the reappropriation and exploitation of land in a variety of regions in the Middle East and South America.
. Looking Through a Circle i a Circle of Looks
[A2 Gallery] - Until 30 August. This exhibition explores artistic practices that critically and speculatively reflects on the role of the moving image in constructing stories and representations of otherness that have shaped a diverse tradition of ethnographic cinema.
. Juana Cima. A Dissident View
[A2 Gallery] - Until 30 August. The exhibition offers an insight into a way of life. It involves the exploration of a journey on Juana Cima (Caibarién, Cuba, 1951) practice, shaped by the intersection of her memory of the Caribbean, her training within the Basque context, and exploratory spirituality, anticipating key debates on identity, ecology and gender ever since the 1970s.
ACTIVITIES
Bor-bor. Open weekend workshops at the museum
4 and 5 April
Mirror, mirror on the wall. In these workshops, we will carefully observe our faces and all their details using small mirrors, and then create our own self-portraits.
11.30 am to 1 pm. For children from 3 to 12 years old, accompanied by an adult.
Free admission until full capacity is reached, without prior reservation.
Guided Tours
During these two weeks, the usual Sunday visits will take place, plus extra visits on public holidays.
The guided tours Visiting Artium Museoa are a 50-minute itinerary in which you can get to know the architecture of the museum, its collection and its temporary exhibitions. In addition, on 12 April, the last guided tour of the Marwa Arsanios' exhibition will take place.
