Films do not represent reality, only the image that society has of that reality. In fact, social media and, as a consequence, films, are an ideal means for conveying the stereotypes that pervade society, thus ensuring that they stand the test of time.
In this exhibition we have selected those films from our bibliographical collection that deal with libraries and information professionals, in order to determine the stereotypes that exist in relation to them in society. Based on this premise, we should like to make people think about our profession and to determine whether the role attached to information units and the people who work in them has changed over the years. Is the debate between the traditional library, normally associated with negative connotations, and modern libraries a thing of the past, or does it still persist in the common imagination?
Step right up, the performance is about to begin!
