The Artium Museum presents the first monographic exhibition dedicated to this artist's work

Moyra Davey's work circulates between the fields of photography, film and writing, building chains of resonances and correspondences that prevent its assingment to a single disciplinary field. These displacements arise not only between media, but also from the stories that overlap in their works and that function as unfinished essays. These are stories that overlap and interrupt from texts that materialize when they are read aloud by the artist, or through the interventions of the recurring characters who star in her pieces. They are works that function as a collection of citations that refer to the sphere of biography, history and literature. His exhibition at the Museum presents some of his most important films, including his latest production i confess (2019).

Davey's work is represented in large collections -among them the MoMA and the Metropolitan Museum in New York, and the Tate Modern in London-, and has been shown in recognized international exhibitions, such as the last edition of the Kassel documenta. His most recent solo exhibitions include those held at Portikus, Frankfurt / Main (2017), Bergen Kunsthall, Norway (2016), Camden Arts Center, London (2014) and Kunsthalle Basel, Switzerland (2010).

Moyra Davey (Toronto, Canada, 1958), lives and works in New York.
